ESTONIAN SINFONIETTA AT THE 21st SUURE-JAANI MUSIC FESTIVAL

The music festival dedicated to the composers of the Kapp family will once again take place in Suure-Jaani on 16–23 June.
The week includes a lot of events, including a musical service at the church, an opera performance, a ballet evening, a photo exhibition by Jaanus Siim, the first Mart Saar pianist competition, a number of various concerts and lunch hours at the cafeteria ‘Arturi Juures’ with musicians and composers talking about music and their work.

On June 16th the 75th anniversary of the all-time greatest guitarist Jimi Hendrix is celebrated at Olustvere Granary. The concert includes the works of two great men – Georg Friedrich Händel and Jimi Hendrix – who both worked and lived at different times in the same building in London.
The soloist in the evening is the guitarist Laur Joamets who won the Grammy award in 2017 with the group Sturgill Simpson.
Other performers include Robert Linna (vocals), Kristjan Kallas (percussions), Henno Kelp (bass) with the special guest Ivo Linna, chamber choir Collegium Musicale conducted by Endrik Üksvärav and Estonian Sinfonietta with Johannes Põlda as the concertmaster for the evening.

On June 19th, in the concert Johann Sebastian Bach 333 at Suure-Kõpu manor, the Estonian Sinfonietta under the name of Concerto bachFest will perform not only the works by the all-time greatest composer but also by Gaetano Donizetti, Villem Kapp and Rudolf Tobias.
The soloists are Oksana Sinkova (flute), Mari-Liis Uibo (violin), Aleksei Vassiljev (cello) and Lembit Orgse (harpsichord) with Arvo Leibur as the concertmaster.

Since 2003, swamp concerts have been organised on Hüpassaare Bog Island on the night of 23 June and this time the Estonian Sinfonietta will perform the music of Tomasso Albinon, Johann Sebastian Back, Heino Eller and Urmas Sisask with Olev Ainomäe (oboe), Jaak Sooäär (guitar) and Arvo Leibur (violin).
