ESTONIAN SINFONIETTA IS STARTING!
The opening concert of the Estonian Sinfonietta takes place
on April 30th at 5 PM in Kadriorg Palace in the series "Castle Music”.
The soloist and conductor of the orchestra is Sergey Ostrovsky,
whom Isaac Stern has cited as one of the most prominent musicians of our time.
The concert program includes orchestral works by Grieg, Tormis, and Mendelssohn,
as well as "Il Trillo del Diavolo" or "Devil's Trill Sonata” by Tartini, offering sparkling virtuosity.
This concert is a chamber opener to the concert tour of the Estonian Sinfonietta
in May in Israel, where the orchestra will perform four concerts
under the baton of Sergey Ostrovsky.
The soloists are virtuoso clarinetist twins Alexander and Daniel Gurfinkel,
in front of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra
with conductor Zubin Mehta.
In addition to the canonical works of classical music, "Illusion" by Erkki-Sven Tüür and "Nostalgia" by Veljo Tormis will be performed in Israel.
The concertmaster of the orchestra is Maano Männi.
The summer of Estonian Sinfonietta is dense.
The orchestra performs at many domestic festivals –Suure-Jaani Music Festival,
Kuressaare Chamber Music Days, Viljandi Early Music Festival,
Mustjala Festival, Tallinn International Organ Festival,
Palamuse Summer Music, and has concert tours in Moldova and Greece.
