ESTONIAN ORCHESTRA FOR THE FIRST TIME AT MALTA INTERNATIONAL SPRING ORCHESTRA FESTIVAL 2019!

Season of Eesti Sinfonietta will be closed with two concerts at Malta International Spring Orchestra Festival, which is already 13th edition of this Festival and theme will be „Of Death and Maidens“. In the main venue of Valletta, Teatru Manoel will be given two concerts.

At the concert of Eesti Sinfonietta Soloists on May 3rd, there will be played beside pieces of Jean Sibelius, Arturs Maskats, Alfred Schnittke and Richard Strauss arrangement of Johannes Põlda from fragment of Lepo Sumeras’ music to the Tõnu Virves’ movie „Death Dance“.
On closing concert on May 4th, there will performed pieces of Paul Hindemith, Francis Poulenc, Karl Fiorini and Gustav Mahler.
Conductor at this concert will be Maltese-born now in Paris active Brian Schembri.

The International Spring Orchestra Festival is about musicians, composers and artists who come together here in Malta to create an incredible musical experience and share with its audience a spectacular musical journey. Over its first 10 years this festival has gone from strength to strength in making music in cultural heritage places around the Maltese islands, of the highest artistic quality. This vibrant and energetic venture contributes to many aspects of the Maltese society be it cultural, economic and educative, and highlights the cultural calendar of the season.
