ESTONIAN SINFONIETTA AT THE CHRISTMAS TIME CONCERT
ANGEL'S SHARE
On December 13th 7 PM, the Christmas time concert of Estonian Sinfonietta will take place in St. Nicholas' Church. Pärt Uusberg "Prayer" , Erkki-Sven Tüür Violin Concerto No. 2 „Angel’s Share“ (soloist Johannes Põlda) and Arvo Pärt "Fratres" will be performed.
About his violin concerto, Erkki-Sven Tüür has said: „The term „angel’s share“ is used for the evaporated 2% of liquid per year when whiskey is ageing in a wooden barrel, therefore letting go of some of the unpleasant tastes of raw whiskey replacing it with noble hints of the oak barrel.
I like to think that people also, during their personalities maturing, could loose a certain portion of not the best in them. Hopefully with the help of our guardian angels...“
Tickets are available at Piletilevi and at the concert venue 3 hours before.
Payment at the concert venue in cash.
